October is finally here! It's birth month

I am so glad that it is finally October. Currently 38 weeks pregnant and really just ready to get back to myself again.

We headed out to take family photos before baby arrives and we had to promise the girls cookies to get them to cooperate. It worked! They shined like they always do and I am so glad we’ll have these memories of them forever. I just love the bond they share and I’m glad they have each other. I know this boy is going to have 3 mamas to watch out for him.

Last week, I thought that birth was imminent. I visited my OB who said I was already dilated and it could be any moment. So I hurried up and got all my last minute items checked off. I was even feeling some strong contractions at night and thought, this is it! I downloaded a contraction app on my phone and was ready to follow the 5-1-1 rule; if your contractions are 5 minutes apart, 1 minute long, for 1 hour then head to the hospital! But this past week, it all ended. Even the Braxton Hicks contractions subsided. It’s now just a waiting game!

Thankfully my blood pressure has remained under control and things are going as smooth as they can be, except for me getting in and out of bed, that’s pretty rough these days!

For now, I’ll just continue to do things normally and when he decides to make his appearance, we’ll be ready!

Officially Fall / Bumpdate

Fall is officially here and I am 36 weeks today!

Last week, I had my regular ob visit and my vital signs were assessed. I’m normally in the 105/60’s range, but not this visit. We noticed it was 130’s/70. I have been so blessed to not have any issues with my previous pregnancies, But we’re not quite sure with this boy. My ob looked at me and said “Pregnancy can do some strange things to our bodies, so let’s just watch it.” I’ll have to admit that I was a bit surprised by these new findings. Being a nurse myself, I know how imperative it is to heed her advice. We’ll just see where it all goes.

I do have my hands full with my girls and preparing them for the holidays. It’s my favorite time of year! Every year, after each holiday, I shop the holiday clearance items. It’s a guilt free way for me to enjoy all the cute things I like without spending a fortune. I love to pull it all out of my storage bins and get the girls involved.. Many times I forgot what I purchased, so it’s always exciting! Hope you are enjoying fall as much as we are!

Baby Shower Bash at The Guild/ Blockhouse Coffee & Kitchen

It was amazing to see The Guild fill up with so many wonderful people this past Sunday! Planning this benefit has taken a little over 2 months and the actual event was more than I ever could have imagined. I am extremely thankful to the sponsors, the community, to my sweet family, and friends who all came together to support this vision. We filled up tables with everything from diapers to wipes, bottles, pacifiers, socks, clothing, and more, all for the Ft. Bend Women’s Center; I was blown away by the support.

Two trunk-loads were collected for the Ft. Bend Women’s Center.

It would not have been possible without several individuals. Emily Scherer, owner of The Guild and Aimee Frederick, of Blockhouse Coffee and Kitchen, were extremely supportive of this goal and I am so very thankful for the time and guidance they provided to ensure this event ran as smooth as possible.

There are so many people who worked very hard to make this event happen. Emily Faniel, manager of Wal-Mart Stafford, provided an awesome spread of food for guests to enjoy: flaky croissants, yummy cold-cuts, delicious fruits, chicken strips, hot wings and popcorn chicken. Not only did Wal-Mart provide the guests an assortment of bites to choose from, they also donated a large amount of baby items for the moms at the shelter.

The Wells Team Houston, husband and wife realtors Amanda and Derek Wells, provided the “mocktail” station. Attendees were able to treat themselves to fresh strawberry lemonade and a “baby shower appropriate” peach sherbet punch. These were served beside a trough of cold Topo Chico, who sponsored their classic mineral water for guests to cool down with.

Of course what is a baby shower without a cake? This beauty was sponsored by Sugar Land baker, Nicola Blackman who has been making cakes for our family since I was a little girl. Alongside the cake, were amazing cupcakes from the Sugar Plum Bakery, who was also a vendor at the event selling unique keto baked goods.

All of these wonderful delights were displayed in the most beautiful tablescape provided by Aryce Designs of Houston, TX. She created a magical scene of floral delight that simply blew our guests away! The attention to the smallest details highlighted our botanical and gold theme.

Classical Party Decor sponsored this Floral Baby sign that went perfectly with our decor.

Coral Alicia Photography sponsored a photo booth complete with a botanical wall and the cutest props. Attendees were able to enjoy digital images sent straight to their phones for social media posting. How cute is her vintage camera set up? Truly the perfect touch for any special event.

Everyone enjoyed the music of DJ RJ productions. He graciously provided his services and emceed the event for guests both inside and outside, which was beneficial to those shopping outdoors awaiting their raffle ticket number to be called.

Everyone who attended in support of the event received a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of several sponsored gifts. These included a navy Michael Kors tote provided by Lexie Lopez of Richmond TX. Kendra Scott jewelry, a $250 gift certificate by Milagro Salons.

Mercy Goods provided a shirt and hand-made charcuterie board, Anita Navarro provided Papparazi jewelry, Kim’s Soy Kandles sponsored two soy candles, Lea’s Unique Designs sponsored a custom bracelet, MadeWell Mercantile sponsored a custom Texas onesie and Gymboree Missouri City/ Sugar Land gave one lucky mom two weeks of free membership to their play gym.

Kendra Gives Back- Benefit for the Ft. Bend Women's Center

I was asked several months ago if I was going to have a baby shower. Of course, I wanted to celebrate this third baby! But I started thinking about ways to give back in the process and a benefit baby shower just kept weighing on my heart. The idea of bringing people together for a good cause just made sense.

When I approached Aimee and Emily of Jax and 6th street in Richmond TX about the idea, they were so supportive! The plan is to have a baby shower on Sunday September 8th from 12-3pm at their location and all baby items given will benefit the Ft. Bend Women’s Center; a non-profit organization that provides shelter and resources to women and children. There are currently several women expecting and baby items will go directly to them and their newborns.

This is where Kendra Scott just blew me away! I reached out to them about being a sponsor for our event and received a call the next day. They loved the idea so much, they agreed to not only be a sponsor but to also hold their own shower and a portion of sales that day would go back to the center!

I had such a great time hosting at their Sugar Land location this past weekend! Thank you to Kendra Scott for being such an amazing, supportive company. Your heart radiates in the wonderful jewelry you make that help women feel beautiful and empowered.

Maternity Style with Pink Blush

It’s Summer time in Texas and I am officially 21 weeks with baby boy! With all of this heat, I am constantly reaching for dresses and light fabrics to keep cool while I chase Peyton and Charlotte around. When Pink Blush reached out to me with a selection of dresses to choose from, I immediately knew this was the one! They have so many beautiful options from formal attire to summer time dresses. I definitely wanted something I could wear constantly. I have worn this dress several times now and I love the fact that I can continue wearing it even after pregnancy. We're pregnant and it's a BOY!

My husband has wanted a son since day 1. I honestly would have been happy with all girls! Either way, we’re excited to become a family of 5 in October. As crazy as it sounds, I am ready for the chaos. I grew up in a family of 5 and there was always something going on or someone to talk to. I am so happy my girls will have another sibling to grow up with. We announced our pregnancy when I was about 3 months and revealed the gender around the same time. We opted to do a blood test which checks for chromosomal abnormalities and also gives the gender as well. Peter was at work when I got the email saying the results were in. I couldn’t wait for him to come home, so we face timed and we were able to see the gender together

. The chromosomal results were all negative, but as a mom, I wanted to be as prepared as I possibly could. I am beyond thankful for this third baby but will be glad when he is out!

October, please hurry.

Mother's Day Photo Shoot- Rose and Eve Photography

We set out on a Friday morning to the Japanese Gardens at Herman Park. You wouldn’t know it by our smiles, but we had just had the longest week; Peter’s dad had been in the ICU for almost 2 weeks and had passed away just a few days prior to these being taken. Peter had been at the hospital most days and I kept the girls busy at home. Our days were running into each other as we tried to keep up with the changes that were happening with our sweet Grampy and in the end try to explain to our oldest that he was going to heaven with Jesus. She didn’t fully understand what was happening, so heading out for some sunshine was what we all needed. The luscious trees, tranquil ponds and chirping birds at the gardens seemed so heavenly. Making these wonderful memories helped us to heal in a way that I cannot describe.

Being surrounded by such a peaceful environment helped to clear our minds and laugh a little with our sweet girls. I am so glad that Terry with Rose and Eve photography was able to capture their smiles.

After our session, we headed out to the lake and walked around a bit with the girls and let them run around.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Momma’s. Despite all of life’s uncertainties we endure, help heal, and keep life going for our little ones even during the hard times.

Love in Action

When my sisters and I were younger, my mom would always try to make holidays super special for us. For Valentine’s day, she would clean our room, make our beds, and have chocolates and a bear waiting for us when we got home from school. I don’t remember exactly what the gifts were or how much she spent on them, but I do remember the feeling that I had when I saw what she had done. An act of service can mean so much more to someone than you think. That clean room meant so much to me and I look forward to the years ahead when I can do this for my children. Actions speak volumes to those around us.

I cherish holidays like Valentine’s day because even though I show my daughter love every day, giving her an act of service and kindness teaches her that love is in the doing.

Valentine Gifts- 5 Little Things for the ladies in Your Life

It’s no surprise that Valentine’s Day is all about chocolates, candy and stuffed animals. These are so great to give or receive and why not? It feels good to shower those we love with symbols of our affection. However, there is so much more than the Valentine aisle at your local store!

I’ve compiled a list of things we have gifted in our family in the past and would be great for V-day!

1. Post it notes: Use a post it note and leave some sweet things about the special person in your life where they can find them. On their pillow, their bathroom mirror, at their desk or locker. What do you love about them? It will surely bring a smile to their face. Check out this heart post it dispenser from Office Depot.

2. Bath Bombs: Bubble baths just make everything better! My favorite bath bombs are from Lush Cosmetics. The Love boat is super fun! I also found some really great bath bombs at Party City including these unicorn bath bombs.

3. Slippers: Peyton loves walking around the house with her slippers and robe. These are the cutest and so comfortable. The store we purchased ours from carried both plain pink and red with hearts.

4. Night Lights/ Air Freshners: These are must haves in our home! We have them in hallways, restrooms and bedrooms. Our favorite’s are from bath and body works like this rhinestone one for our living room and guest bathroom. Peyton loves the smell of the sweet pea air freshener. Bath and body works has the cutest air fresheners and so many to chose from! I’ve also linked some not so fancy nightlights because we do use them everywhere and these in particular sense sunlight, perfect for saving electricity.

5. RED WINE: My favorite wine is Dulcis, found at HEB stores. It is absolutely the best red wine I have ever had! Sweet and tastes the best when enjoyed chilled. Peter knows it would be silly just to purchase 1 bottle. He gets two and comes home a hero.
